Carolyn Pham, head of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), has appointed an official to handle the cryptocurrency proliferation at the agency.
Carolyn Pham, acting chair of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, made major changes to the agency’s top positions just days after she was appointed by US President Donald Trump.
Pham announced the new leadership of the CFTC on January 22 statement Appointment of interim officials to senior positions, including new directors of the agency’s market oversight and enforcement divisions and a top cryptocurrency awareness position at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
Harry Jung has been appointed acting chief of staff and will lead the CFTC’s “engagement in the space of cryptocurrencies, decentralized finance (DeFi) and other digital assets,” Pham said.
