I moved to Koh Samawi, Thailand to escape fatigue. I am the happiest here

This disgusting article is based on a conversation with Anna Miroshina, 40, the owner of the Real Estate Agency Siam.villas In Koh Samawi, Thailand. It was released for length and clarity.

Twelve years ago, she moved to KoH Samui, an island in southern Thailand, which was recently in the light of the spot because of the last season of “The White Lotus”.

I was young and started a profession in the field of information technology in Russia, but I didn’t feel I had a plan. I was struggling with issues in my personal life and fell into depression.

My friend opened a tape in Samawi and asked if I wanted to help him for a year. I wanted to take a break from life at home, so I fill my bags and left St. Petersburg.

While working on the bar, I had a lot of free time and started exploring real estate on the side. I continued to become an independent agent, as the income was much better than I was making in the bar.

I also changed my opinion about returning to Russia, I wanted to stay in Thailand.

Enjoy life in Thailand

Two years ago, my real estate agency started. In Thailand, you do not need a license to be an agent.

In Samawi, I have a suitable balance for work and life.

Whenever I feel tired, I go to the beach or stay on an island adjacent to recharge for a few days. When I lived in St. Petersburg, life was often complex and exhausted. There was no relaxation outlet.

There is not much traffic on the island. In my car or motorcycle, it is only seven minutes of my office.

Unlike the cold months in Russia, it is summer throughout the year in Samui. People are more friendly and life is more relaxed. Everything looks slower and easier – I live near the sea and I can dive and swim.

There is this Thai saying – “Sabai Sabai” – which means that it is important to take it easily and enjoy life.

As a woman, I feel safe to live in Samawi. Crimes, especially those serious, rare. I find the front culture, so women are respected. I feel I am at the same level here with everyone.

Living and working in Russia was different, and I felt that men manage the offer, and women were often asked to stay at home and take care of the family. It is part of the reason for managing a company in Samui – enables me people.

I took Thai language lessons last year and planned to apply for citizenship in the next two years.

The cost of the island’s life

My usual daily starts bright and early. I wake up at 5:30 am to arrest the sunrise. I spend my morning exercise on the beach. It takes most of the daily work – advertising properties, consulting with potential buyers, and exploring new sites. I often see the sunset at about 6:30 pm before it ends after an hour and prepare to sleep.

Living in Samui can be more expensive than other parts of Thailand, especially if you are looking for comfort or luxury.

Although it is possible to find a small apartment for less than $ 300 per month, many expatriates choose to stay in medium -term apartments slightly larger with amenities such as a shared raising of about $ 1300 a month.

Those looking for a more luxurious life have the option to live in the villas on the beach. Rental rents usually start with homes from four to five bedrooms with direct sea arrival from $ 20,000 per month.

There is no “white Lotus” real estate effect

Parts of “The White Lotus” were filmed directly from my desk in the Anantara Bophut resort. The show was filmed in Samawi last year during the peak season, and there were traffic jams on the island. Two of my friends worked on the group as additions.

To date, “The White Lotus” has not had a major impact on local real estate. I haven’t seen an increase in buyers or people who move here.

People were interested in Samoy for years, even before the show.

Three years ago, I realized that I should stop renting and buying a house. I felt prepared to abide.

Samawi is my home.
