Here is what happens if you do not have a real identifier after May 7
US travelers can hinder holidays this summer if they do not value a real identity.
The deadline is approaching on May 7, which is set by internal security quickly, which means that the internal flights on the plane will not be able to use their old driver’s licenses as a definition.
But what happens if you reach a TSA safety checkpoint without a real identification? Here’s everything you need to know.
What is a real identifier?
The real knowledge was a recommendation from the September 11 Committee, which was formed in 2002 during the era of former President George W. Bush, in order to “set standards for issuing identity sources, such as driver’s licenses and identity cards.”
In addition to climbing to local commercial flights, real identifiers will be asked to grant access to some federal facilities and nuclear power plants.
The US Congress has officially passed the true identity law in 2005. However, the federal government has been delayed in implementing real knowledge several times over the past two decades. Although the real identity is a form of identity, internal security said they are not considered evidence of citizenship.

Unlike previous identity cards, the real identifier will have a star in the upper half of the card.
And internal security said: “If the card does not put a star mark, it is not compatible with the identity and will not be accepted as evidence of the identity on the commercial aircraft.”
However, there are differences. Depending on the case, real knowledge can be characterized by a golden star, a black star, a golden circle with white star pieces, or a black circle with white stars pieces.
In California, the real identity has a golden bear with a white star interruption. Internal security announced on April 24 that New York State is IDS Real, improved licenses, and identity cards will have a star or flag of the United States.
How do you get a real identifier?
The process of obtaining a real identifier varies depending on the case.
For example, getting a real identifier in Alaska means applying personally at the Auta Car Management Office and providing a preliminary document that displays specific information, including the name of birth and the state of American citizenship.
In Texas, people can apply for a real card compatible with identity in the Texas Office at the Public Safety Office. Some may be eligible to renew an online driver’s or identity license.
At least, Internal Security said that people must show documents that offer their full legal name, date of birth, social security number, two evidence of the main residency address, the legal status, to obtain a real identity card.
As Business Insider, some people who changed their names by marriage or divorce face a problem in collecting the papers needed to apply for a real identifier.

Can you apply for a real identification after the deadline on May 7?
Although internal security will start applying real knowledge on May 7, people can submit applications at any time. Those who do not have a real identity card by that date may face problems in the United States and lose access to some federal buildings.

If travelers do not have an acceptable model of identity, a TSA employee may ask you to “complete the identity verification process, which includes collecting information like your name and current address to confirm your identity. If your identity is confirmed, you will be allowed to enter the checkpoint, as you may undergo an additional examination.”
“You will not be allowed to enter a safety checkpoint if you choose not to provide an acceptable identity, refuse to cooperate with the identity verification process, or your identity cannot be confirmed,” says TSA.
Internal Security added that the passengers who are trying to fly without a suitable determination “anticipate the confrontation of the delay, the additional examination, and the possibility of not allowing them at the security checkpoint.”
