ZKsyNC X an account hacked, called the wrong SEC probe

• The infiltrators falsified the SEC probe to break the ZK icon.
• Zksync and Matter Labs have regained control of X.
• This is the second main penetration of ZKSYNC since April 2025.

The infiltrators published a false advertisement, claiming that the American authorities, including the Securities and Stock Exchange Committee (SEC), was investigating ZKSYNC. The publication suggested that the American cabinet can punish Ethereum Layer 2.

This deceptive press statement was assumed to instill fear and uncertainty among encryption users. By impersonating the organizational campaign, attackers tried to influence feelings on the market. What they wanted is clear: to destroy the ZKSYNC code price (ZK). The plan bears immediate fruits. Harrison Lego, also known as “POP PUNK”, indicated that this was not a typical theft. “Instead of dropping a symbol and stealing a few dollars, they decided to intimidate the live shit from Onsin Dijir,” he wrote, while highlighting the psychological losses of wrong information campaigns.

Early investigations indicate that the violation has occurred through the “delegated accounts” through the third -party services that were granted for publication to the official X accounts. Matter Labs is now investigating how these accounts are used.

The second breach in two months

This is not the first time that Zksync has faced a dangerous security period. On April 15, another striker managed to exploit the officials’ privileges of the ZKSYNC AirDrop distribution.
