Beyonce Bobs and Broccoli: A day in the life of the CEO of the fitness company
This translated article relies on a conversation with Brian Maires, President and CEO of SolidCore Fitness, who lives in Washington, DC. The following has been released for length and clarity.
I always knew that I had a passion for work. He was very present, even in my childhood. I tried to start business such as fruit sales from door to door and a children’s bishop-I had this error in entrepreneurship. I followed this passion and went to the college to work, but when I went out, I still cannot answer a question what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I decided to kick the box on the road and go to consulting, believing that it will be a great way to see a group of different functional areas within business and my assistance in decision -making. I had an amazing experience as a consultant in the Boston Consulting Group for nearly five years.
But working with the largest companies in the world showed me what I was missing – the opportunity to help build a company. In 2014, I decided to leave my comfortable job and join the SweetGreen leadership team as a financial planning manager. During my presence there, the brand and the brand arose and polished what the company will become.
I also discovered SolidCore. The place where I went when I was tense at work, and when I wanted to remember the house while traveling.

A few years later, when a former consultant colleague came to the founder of SolidCore, I left my league as a vice president to develop new stores in SweetGreen to join Solidcore as CO. Now, seven years later, I am the president and CEO.
Here is what it looks like a typical day in my life.
I usually wake up around 6 am
The first thing I do is to walk my dog for 20 to 30 minutes. It is a great way for each of us to get some movement. While walking, I joined two things – diki statistics and business.

I would like to verify the statistics of diki to find out how it has grown, the comfortable heart rate, and the changing heart rate (HRV). It gives me a basic line for today and helps me to determine what my body feels and what I need to do to make sure that I appear at my best.
Next, look at the actual time information panels in SolidCore to see things like cash sales, studio visit, and membership growth. It allows me to walk a day to find out what our chances and challenges may be.
When I return from my career, we direct to a ready -made time for the family
I have a young child, so my husband and I brought him and ourselves ready. We usually get out of the door about 7:15. My husband is the principal of the primary school in northern Virginia, so he goes to school, and on the way, we divide the duties of slipping with me, usually take our dogs into our child to our child to their daytime tools. I usually be in the office between 7:45 and 8 am to start today.
Even with a busy morning, I eat a large breakfast. I eat in our societal office kitchen – it’s also a nice way to salute our team members upon their arrival. Typical breakfast is a fushing cauliflower-the entire steamed cyst-with four boiled eggs and equivalent in English. I think it’s the most important meal in the day and choose something that gives me energy.
During the day, I do the typical things that you expect the CEO to do – go to meetings and spend time with the team
Currently, we are growing a lot, and it is interesting to see the influence we are talking about as we enter more societies and see new people who walk through our doors. When I joined the company, we had 25 sites, and now we are almost 140 in 26 states.
When I started in SolidCore for the first time, a lot of my role was about “doing”. I was negotiating deals with angel or employment. Now, my role is more orientation towards vision. It focuses on questions like, “Where will we be within five years?” Or “Who are the team members or jobs that we need to add to this company?”
I also spend a lot of my time on the road, see our teams and help them feel the task and see our company, as well as make sure they feel appreciated and inspired.

I also find ways to continue the magic that our founder has created while creating my legacy and strategy
After I became the CEO, we have paid a lot to get better prices in exchange for their lock and be part of society as members.
We also thought about race, age and body type – all that could make people feel excluded from the experience of fitness. We want people to look at our training wall and see themselves in a coach.

We are also thinking about how to build products to help all people, whether they are superior or at the beginning of their fitness trips. One of the ways we did, is to provide new category formats for those in different fitness levels, such as Starter50 and Advanced50.
I love working with my team
One of the amazing things about working in a company like SolidCore is that we have a lot of flexibility; It is not uncommon for people working in the headquarters to jump and sweat the team together. It may be in SolidCore – because of course we love SolidCore – but it may also be in another studio around our area. It breaks today and revitalizes us for what comes after that.

I love exercise with our teams and I often train several times a week when I travel. Many business leaders take their teams for dinner or a happy hour, but the chapter training is another way for me to contact in an original anxious way.
Another way I communicate with people through the presence of social media
I am very intended to show people that I am more than just the title of the CEO – I am a father, I love to travel, I Lips synchronization to BeyonceAnd I enjoy hosting dinner parties with my friends. I think this helps people link to me and realize that you do not have to be suffocated or robot to be the CEO.

I also stop some time to participate in the charitable organizations and reasons that I care about
I am a member of the strategic advisory council for Health and Fitness Association (Formerly known as IHRSA) I think industries do not progress without people working to help their progress.
I also support Ridley Scholarship FundWhich prompted in exchange for my university experience and changed my course by allowing me to participate in the curricula and the student’s experience rather than thinking about work or having to pay the loans.

I usually go home from the office around 5 pm, then jump to the family time
My husband and I made and eaten dinner, knees a day, and we play with our son. We really fall everything before going to bed at 7 pm
Once he goes to bed, a routine includes a mixture of some different things. Our talisman in SolidCore is to be the most powerful version of yourself, and one of the ways I do is to be a continuous learner. Sometimes reading – I have read “power of power”. At other times, he takes a Spanish lesson, which I have been doing with a teacher over the past three years.
I also take time to catch up with friends through text, faceime or zoom. It is also time to take advantage of work and end all the things that I did not accomplish before leaving the office. I try to limit the evening to more than two hours until I am ready to attack the next day.
End my day between 10 and 10:30 pm
I have finished like a typical millennium generation – by scrolling through Tiktok and catching up with funny trends and I decipher it from the growth of the growing business management.
It takes a village to me to stay active and excited about my work. My husband, family, CEO, and my assistance all support me.

Many people look at successful people and think they are doing everything, but no one can do everything. The only way you can reach these success levels is with an incredible society.
