TV broadcasters want side bustle as the cable faces decrease

Television news and other talents were watching the walls slowly closed in cable work. Now, they want their networks to allow them to lay the foundation for an alternative exit or podcast before the money runs out, and he tells talent agents and other people familiar with Business Insider.

“We are trying to set opportunities for people to earn money outside their networks,” said one of the senior talent agents. “We are holding these conversations every day – we all see that there is a limited aspect for these people in the networks.”

The networks have historically prevented talents from moonighting on other platforms with their own news messages and podcasts (with exception books).

Catherine Valentin, a Point Point person for news and politics, said that the platform witnessed the interest of journalists on television after it launched a live video and Jim Acosta, previously at CNN, on broadcasting from the platform earlier this year.

Some old news organizations, such as CNN and MSNBC, are trying to allow talents using substack to distribute clips as they would have done on X (Twitter previously) in the past.

Valentin said: “They open the door because the talents that have such an immediate impact on substack.”

An example of this is Steve Cornki, Who left NBC to become a contributor to MSNBCA person familiar with the matter, which would allow him to do other things outside the network.

The agents also choose their company’s goals carefully. One of them said they considered that CBS News and Disney’s ABC News are more conservative when it comes to leaving independent talents, while they saw NBC and MSNBC more open.

Chuck Todd, former supervisor “Meet The Press” and independent businessmen now, said he heard “Internet Stalt” that the news could copy what Disney Espn had done with Stephen A. Smith and Pits Mcavi. Smith deal Free it to show more platforms to talk about politics, while MCAfee’s He gave him creative control.

“The future is likely to be throughout the media scene,” said Tod.

With agents ready to enter into sensitive negotiations with networks on the side vehicles of talents, it helps to have examples such as Acosta, one of the higher policy names in Presscack, as well as the names of the less profitable policy.

The agents said they are also watching salaries. Ports like puck and Angler I have been informed of various flat or declining stars salaries. Despite this economic reality, the bi agents told that they felt that the bottom did not completely go out of the market – consider lower salaries in half.

Why not?

Why do TV news companies not allow all their employees to researchers?

The traditional television company’s view is to push talents well for exclusive and can face editorial, legal and reputation risks if someone or comments on another platform outside the editorial or legal review of the network.

Some channels, such as MSNBC, stretch that they create different opportunities for talent at home.
