Techwomen returned online! | Hackernoon
On March 27, 2025, the CEO of Techwomen wrote to thousands of women all over the world with great news: After that
I am very pleased to inform you that IIE will return to the work of the members of the Techwomen team who were placed on Furlough. This means that we are now able to continue to support the Techwomen program and we are of course keen to do this! The team members will return to work in the next week or two weeks to continue planning forward for Techwomen 2025.
On behalf of the Techwomen team, I would like to thank each of you for the flow of encouragement, for your audio support for technology and international exchange on a broader scale. We are very grateful for being part of this society.
Hackernoon was
Since that first article of Hackernoon 10 days ago, the mentors have found ways to meet face to face with members of Congress, confirming support from the two parties during autumn day with Congress offices on March 25, and drafting 3 other opinion pieces aimed at restoring the program financing. We may never know the reason for the return of funding, but what is clear is that this group of thousands of women gathered to fight a good battle – and won.
Society feels overwhelming, with WhatsApp groups and LinkedIn, pamphlets that are overflowing with joy from Morocco to Kyrgyzstan, from Egypt to South Africa.
Marian Hritkak of San Francisco, California, USA says:
“Smart women, smart technology and smart power: Restore the technology program in the United States in the United States ensures that the United States remains competitive in the global economy. I have proven my many years of participation as a coach of influence and the cultural teacher already that the major contributions to STEM have brought this program and will continue to present it to the table.”
Silvia Mukasa from Nairobi, Kenya writes:
“As a 2014 Techwomen colleague, the vision of financing the program that was restored is a very emotional moment for me – a testimony of global guidance power, flexibility, and the constant belief that investing in women in STEM transforms life, industries and countries.”
Nicole Martinel of San Francisco, California, USA says:
“Techwomen is a wonderful society of inspiring, intelligent, emotional and dedicated women (both mentors and colleagues), and it is really a spark for hope and joy to restore funding for this amazing program!”
Ela Morgoulis of San Francisco, California, USA says:
“The Techwomen program revolves around the unification and empowerment of women all over the world, in the United States and abroad. When we stood collectively and fought for that, we got the results and showed that we live our values.
Katie Dickenson of San Jose, California, USA says:
“I am so happy and so comfortable that Techwomen’s financing has been restored so that STEM leaders can inspire us to join us and we can honor them. Together, Techwomen works together to make the world better.”
(I must point out to the bias here. I participated in Techwomen from its concept not only because I have a background in both STEM and Arabic, but because my mother was the original operation engineer
The battle is not over. Currently, Fulbright and Gilman has not announced the end of the signals. Therefore, in their practical and generous way, Techwomen guides are planning to use meetings that were to defend Techwomen to thank those who supported our program and also defending programs that are still in a state of forgetfulness.
Who knows what the future hides, if Techwomen will be threatened again in the days, months, or coming years. But at the present time, the excellent Techwomen team will end the Fall 2025 regiment, working with embassy employees around the world to choose the latest Techwomen colleagues to join this amazing and powerful global network of women in STEM.
This is for everyone to celebrate it.
