President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday afternoon that he is retracting his original plan for the mutual tariff for foreign countries – for a period of 90 days.
“It authorized a temporary stop for 90 days, and a 10 % mutual tariff has been reduced during this period, by 10 %,” said in A. Social truth.
Meanwhile, Trump said it would increase the definitions of Chinese goods by up to 125 %, an additional escalation in a continuous trade war between the two countries.
“At some point, we hope in the near future, that China will realize that the days of tearing the United States of America and other countries are no longer sustainable or acceptable,” Trump wrote.
Trump said that his decision to retract the original mutual definitions of countries as part of China – some of which were more than 40 % – was a response to more than 75 countries seeking to introduce negotiations.
Meanwhile, China responded to Trump’s definitions by increasing the rate of tariffs on American goods.
“The world is ready to work with President Trump to reform global trade, and China has chosen the opposite direction,” said the Minister of Commerce, Howard Lootnick on X.
