Tron and Tether joins the freezing of $ 9 million of infiltrators

A cooperative effort between TON, Tether and TRM LABS has led to a freezing of more than $ 9 million linked to the BYBIT, according to A. a report From t3_fcu. These three encrypted forces have created a joint criminal initiative called T3_FCU (Financial Crime Unit) to combat illegal activities on Blockchain.

Besides the immediate recovery of stolen money, this initiative highlights the increasing trend of pre -emptive security measures taken by Blockchain networks and Stablecoin Exporters to protect the integrity of the space of digital assets.

Bybit, a leading cryptocurrency, suffered a standard penetration on February 21, which led to the loss of more than $ 1.4 billion in digital assets, especially ETHEREUM (ETH).

The breach has been widely attributed to the notorious Lazarus group, the North Korean Piracy Syndicate. The infiltrators used a loophole in the cold wallet system in bybit during routine transport, and injecting harmful code into the user interface. This allowed them to redirect 401,000 ETH from the headlines under their control by hiding a fraudulent deal as legitimate.

The attack was described as the largest encryption theft in history, bypassing previous records and open weaknesses in the central exchange security. However, Ben Zhou CEO of Ben Zhou confirmed that the stock exchange is still a solvent, exceeding $ 20 billion of management assets.

Recovery efforts are still ongoing

In response to the attack, Bybit launched a bonus program entitled “Lazarus Bounty”, offering $ 140 million (10 % of stolen money) to encourage Blockchain investigators and independent reward fishermen to help track and restore lost assets.

The stolen money was tracked across thousands of portfolios, some of which were transferred to Bitcoin, while washed through exchanges and privacy mixers.

With the latest boom in freezing 9 million dollars of infiltrators, recovery efforts show promising marks, but there is still a lot of work to restore the full amount.
