The voices of legislators in Montana against Bell, who would have made Bitcoin one of the state reserves
The lawmakers of Montana have dropped a bill that enables the state government to invest in Bitcoin (BTC) as a backup asset.
Forty Republicans and Democrats in the House of Representatives in Montana voice For the draft law, but 41 democratic and 18 Republicans refused this.
The draft law, which was approved by the committee’s vote last week, would create a “special account for the state to invest in precious metals and digital assets”, with the definition of digital assets as “virtual currencies, encrypted currencies, original electronic assets, including stablecoins and others Distinctive codes, and other digital assets that give the rights or power of the economy, ownership, or access.
The draft law would also be limited to investing in encryption assets with the maximum market, which is more than 750 billion dollars in the previous calendar – a bitcoin standard only.
Montana is not the only country with the Mult Crypto Reserve this year: Earlier this month, the Senator in Western Virginia, Chris Rose, presented a draft law that allows the state to invest up to 10 % of public funds in the same types of assets. Legislators in Texas, Utta and Arizona also study similar proposals.
Bitcoin is trading at $ 92,029 at the time of this report. The highest categorized coding assets have decreased by the maximum market by approximately 4 % over the past 24 hours.
