The Hampton police in New Hampshire uses new tools to investigate fraud in encrypted currencies
Hampton officials say that the town’s residents were defrauded to obtain a million dollars last year, most of them were related to cryptocurrencies, and the police are now working to restore these funds. The Hampton Police Administration said that the fraud in encrypted currencies has increased significantly over the past five years and is now responsible for nearly half of the fraud that they deal with. Officials said that fraud usually start with interactions online, as it first requests small sums and then reach tens and sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars.
