India will face a 27 % tariff on exports to the United States starting next week. The new rate is less than the duties imposed on many Asian countries. China, for example, will face a 34 % tariff in addition to a 20 % duty previously.
Vietnam, Thailand, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are among the worst countries. India has avoided more severe duties due to its smaller trade excess with the United States.
