The DAO expression suggests entering the ARB program 25 million

DAO is considering suggesting the cancellation of the Games incentive program (GCP), a project aimed at strengthening the ecosystem of games on the leading Ethereum Layer 2. The proposal, which was presented on Monday, proposes the restoration of 225 million ARB symbols for the program, which amounted to about 215 million dollars at the beginning.

Dao arbitrary suggestion to calm GCP

GCP was launched in March 2024 to support web3 games, with an initial budget and ambitious goals. However, the proposal argues that the program’s expectations were excessively optimistic and unparalleled, as many major supporters, such as the DAO treasure, have already come out, and other shareholders showed a decrease in participation. Moreover, the program also faced criticism of the lack of transparency regarding its spending and attempts to reduce the reporting requirements with the increase in the shareholders’ compensation.

In the release, GCP 225 million ARB icon, planned to be used over three years. However, only part of the financing has been used, with a program that is struggling to implement basic operations such as transparent reports and grant distribution. Although there are more than 64 projects in the pipeline by early 2025, the program faced management rotation and criticized operational palaces.

David Bolgger, a member of the GCP Council, defended the program, highlighting the success of Arbitrum as a gaming project center, including major industry players like Ubisoft and Square Enix. Nowadays, no consensus has emerged on the proposal, leaving an uncertain GCP future.
