- Angeli Mac, a personal trainer, has struggled with her relationship with food and fitness.
- It flipped its weight because it will struggle to follow strict meals, then excessive eating.
- Mac, 31, has learned to eat and exercise in a way that works for her.
This exciting article depends on the conversation with Anjuli Mack, a 31 -year -old personal coach in New Zealand. The following has been released for length and clarity.
When I started lifting weights for the first time 13 years ago, I didn’t know what I was doing, but I knew that I would like to become stronger. I would just like to choose a machine, like the stem extension, and do it, for example, one minute.
In the following years, my relationship with food and fitness has changed significantly. I tried all kinds of nitty meals, lost weight, competed in bikini competitions, and became a qualified personal coach.
However, in the past two or two years only I started to feel at home in my body. I am in good condition, I feel strong, and I have a healthy diet but I have chocolate for most days, and I do not confirm if I cross the exercise.
I continued meals because I was planning for the body

I got to know the force for the first time in adolescence and decided to try some exercises similar to the takeoff camp.
A few years later in 2012 when I went to Wikato University to study business, I joined the gym. I raised heavy, and I did what was then considered “Guy” exercises, such as seat presses, squatting, and Deadlifts. At that time, there were no other women in the weight room, but I like to raise heavy things. I was not thinking about how I looked at everyone.
I did not know anything about nutrition, either until I ate a lot.
One day, I heard some girls talking about me. They said: “Why do you go to the gym very much? It even does not look like it is working.”
This made me ask myself. Why did I not have ABS like fitness models?
That was the beginning of a few years of a heresy diet. I tried everything: keto, “Detox Tea”, intermittent fasting “, clean eating”, number of calories. I will try anything you thought would make me lose weight and look fit. But I couldn’t stick to any of them and ended up on weekends, so I gained weight over time.
I was also exaggerated, and I go to the gym twice or three times a day. It pretended that it was to relieve stress when the receptionist commented on how much I was there.
I had a “all or nothing” mentality
A few years later, I realized that my relationship with food was terrible. A dietitian has rented me to be more flexible with a focus on eating whole foods.

Almost at the same time, in 2014, I met my husband Ross in the gym. We were friends at first and he was studying health sciences. It has taught me how to organize training and eat a more balanced diet, including explaining the reason for our need for carbohydrates.
However, I still have the mindset of “all or nothing.”
After the university, I Ross went to travel for a few months and we took a lot. I was heavier you were at all. I wanted to return to the right track and feel more healthy, so I restarted the gym routine but I am still suffering to adhere to a calorie deficit.
Ross is a personal coach and decided to compete in bodybuilding, which means a strict diet and an exercise plan. I inspired me, in 2017, I decided to enter a competition.
She rented a coach who gave me a one -page meal plan to follow up for 16 weeks. I lost a lot of weight and felt satisfied when I went up on stage. But I hated a diet and found it difficult to stick to. I had additional spoons of peanut butter because I was very hungry.
The competition was in May, by September, gained all weights and more. I was eating food, I felt out of control, and I cried for most days.

I was embarrassed to go to the gym if people disappear about the amount of weight I gained.
I cost me to tear
So she got a new fatigue coach, lost 11 pounds, and decided to compete again. I started my transformation photos in the virus, and I decided to qualify as a personal coach so that I could help all women seek advice.
I competed in 2018 and twice in 2019, but I was very meager and Super Hangry. It was a lot to my body and lost my monthly course. I knew I needed to recover and take some time.

In 2020 and 2021, I worked at home, gained some weight, and my period returned.
In 2022, I decided to try another again – I was sixth and finally won and got my “professional” card. It is important, I was more flexible with my diet and my relationship with food was well done.

I have gained 13 lbs and have a healthy relationship with food
My goal now is to simply maintain fitness and my life style. I can’t say again for one time, but I am sure that my competing days are over.
I am really happy with my place now. I have gained 13 healthy lbs since the 2022 competition and I do not want to go during the entire tearing and construction course year after year. Being in maintenance means that I am more social and see friends more as well, I just watch protein, fiber and steps.

I feel sorry for what I put in my younger myself, but the process taught me a lot. Now I can contact people and help people in similar situations.
I have a healthy relationship with food, I feel satisfied in my body, and I re -call it the reason for my arrival to the gym in the first place – to enjoy enjoying the burning. And I feel that I can keep this for the rest of my life, which is the goal.
