The Chairman of the Board of the BELARUS Central Bank says that CBDC will be launched in trading by the second half of 2026: Report

According to what was stated that the country of European Eastern Belarus will launch a central bank currency (CBDC) by next year.

Quoted from a statement issued by the Chairman of the National Bank, Roman Golovshenko, the State Peta News Agency Reports The digital form of the Belarusian ruble will be in full circulation by the second half of 2026.

Golovchenko says that by that time, business entities will be able to use CBDC – the digital shape of the official currency in the country that is released and supported by the Central Bank. The plan is to provide digital rubble for both state and individuals bodies by 2027.

He says that the central bank is charged with determining the requirements for adopting digital ruble, creating the required program and developing an organizational framework.

“The digital ruble in the field of our priorities. We are active to create … We are facing the issue of money safety. It will be very important to be able to track how digital money has passed through the entire series.”

Golovchenko says the digital currency carries promising solutions to the cross -border settlements, and berus is already working closely with Russia, which is also in the process of creating its CBDC.

“We are already working on a joint action plan to use these tools in mutual settlements.”
