The best thing in masters: No phones

Troy Wahlberg has been waiting for more than 15 years to follow the accurately covered landscape at the National Golf Club.

Wahlberg managed to break the tickets to a master’s degree through the lottery system. He told Business Insider.

When he reached the training rounds in Ugusta National this week, he had a small camera in his pocket.

His mobile phone, however, was absent.

The attendees are prohibited from bringing mobile phones to Ugusta’s national lands during the tournament. Other electronic items, such as laptops, tablets, radio and TV devices, are also a master’s occurrence. The beneficiaries who violate these policies can be removed from Ugusta’s national land and losing their tickets.

In the era of screens everywhere and notes without stopping, the Master maintains analog.

“It is peaceful,” he said. “It is like camping. You are separated slowly.”

The presence of a master’s degree means separating from the world for hours at one time, which can cause problems for people who depend on our escalating society for work. One of the correspondents of the Wall Street Journal wrote that some of the financial work who attended the championship on Wednesday was not aware, for example, that President Donald Trump announced a 90 -day stoppage on many customs tariffs until he told them.

Wahlberg felt “fake noisy” in his pocket for the first few hours in the Master, but he said that the lack of mobile phones is part of the magic of the event.

“You are sitting next to other shepherds, and no one has a face on the screen, so you are forced to hold talks,” he said. “I couldn’t tell you the names of anyone we sat, but I can reformulate all conversations.”

Shepherds in the Master are not completely out of the network. Instead, they are waiting for a queue to use the payment phones provided by the golf club.

Ugusta National also allows beneficiaries to bring cameras during training rounds, but they are prohibited during the tournament days. “It was great to have a camera to capture moments,” Walrag said. “We have to get our personal photos.”

The wave of anti -cell phones has gained traction in recent years. Gareth Brooks banned phones during his stay in Las Vegas. Many comedians now require guests to put their phones in cases until after the show.

However, most artists and athletes still perform a sea of ​​cameras and smartphones. Wahlberg does not want this in a master’s degree.

“I think pastors and fans of this event will perform properly riots if they decide to change,” said Wolburg. “I hope we will continue in this direction because there are no mobile phones in the events.”

Fortunately, the National Augusta does not seem to change its policy any time soon.

Master’s Chairman Farid Ridley discussed the ban before the 2019 championship, saying that the beneficiaries estimated this.

“I don’t think this is a policy that anyone should expect in the near future, if any,” said Ridley. “I cannot talk about future presidents, but I am talking about myself, I think we got this right.”
