Spycloud analysis reveals that 94 % of Fortune 50 companies have exposed employee data in hunting attacks

Austin, USA/Texas, May 7, 2025/Cybernewswire/-SpycloudThe leading threats to the Identity Threats issued an analysis of nearly 6 million reduced data records that have been recovered from underground criminal during the past six months.

GetyCloud research attacks grow, and Electronic collections are increasingly targeting high -value identity data that can be used for follow -up attacks such as Ransomware and Eass Assuvers and fraud.

While the data only reflects a snapshot of the threat of hunting, it provides valuable visions for institutions that seek to enhance defenses, enhance user training, and prevent identity -based attacks.

The main results of the SPYCLOUD analysis of luxury data include:

  • 94 % of 50 companies have an employee identity data exposed as a result of hunting attacks.
  • 81 % of these records have email addresses, including 42 % IP addresses, and 31 % include user agent information determining the device details and browser browser.
  • Regular higher industries include hunting campaigns: wireless communications, information technology, and financial services.
  • Two -thirds of the 5.5 million records include accreditation data, financial information or identification data for visitors, while 37 % of the email targeting lists (a set of addresses specified for attempts to hunt, do not necessarily lead to a compromise).

“We have seen a 17 % increase in deceptive emails,” said Brian Jack, information security officer at KNOWBE4. In the past six months alone, we have seen a 17 % increase in deceptive emails. What is particularly raised is that approximately 82 % of the victims have been exposed to their e -mail reliance data in previous data violations, giving the attackers a decisive advantage. “

“This highlights the urgent need for continuous training in security awareness, but this is only half of the equation. The security teams must also see these specific exposters so that they can take a quick targeted action for treatment. Combining human vigilance and implemented intelligence is the most effective way to stop hunting in their paths – and prevent them from opening the door on the fastest cyber.”

Hunting attacks-not because organizations lack defenses, but because Internet criminals update their tactics, and developing hunting campaigns in industrial domain operations with hunting and service platforms (PHAS) and AI.

With the ability to automate the creation of advanced clinic groups, actors threats can harvest accreditation data more easily and 2FA symbols, distribute clinic links via QR codes, and bypass CAPTCAS to avoid detection.

“To combat the growing range and the development of hunting attacks, security teams need to access exposed identity data in actual time before leading to a wider compromise,” said Trevor Helgos, head of security research at Spycloud.

“One of the areas we find from the institutions that lack insight is when it comes to the target hunting lists, and ripens with potential victims of hunting campaigns. Armed with this knowledge, institutions can put a sign of weak accounts proactively, alert these users, and stay more awake to avoid falling.

Hilligoss continues, “When institutions processing luxurious credentials, ending at risk web sessions, and disposing of the artifacts of other stolen identity, they significantly reduce their risks – and disrupt the ability of the attackers to escalate privileges and launch ransom programs.”

Spycloud will deeper into these results during the upcoming web symposium on Thursday, May 15th, phish: What does the data that have been restored about the processing manufacture reveals? Organizations interested in detecting exposure to the identity related to hunting and disruption are invited before they are escalating Sign here.
