Musk against Trump? Tesla shares tanks with an escalation of tensions

Tesla (Nasdaq: TSLA) shares decreased by 2.6 % in the pre -market today, and up to 5 % in the opening hour, such as CEO of Tesla (CEO) ELON Musk and President Trump continues the pick.

At one point, TSLA shares were traded to $ 313.50 before restoring the price of the press time of $ 314.26, which contributed to -37.20 dollars (-10.47 %) in the past five days.

Tesla shares are still affected as Musk continues its position against the so -called “major and beautiful bill” of Trump, which would eliminate tax credit for $ 7,500 federal electric cars that were submitted under the former President Biden inflation law, although Musk supported tax credit ending in December.

It is understood that Trump’s proposal poses a direct threat not only to Tesla but also to other EV manufacturers, as the tax motivation was a major factor in supporting EV sales in the country.

Tesla sales

Political musk spray could not have come in a worse time.

The company is already struggling with foreign sales drops, especially in China and Europe, and any additional pressure may end until the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

I remember that the company has faced many negative criticisms since 2024, given the political activity of musk, especially its association with the Trump administration.

Despite the recession in Europe and China, Tesla has spread modest sales gains in Australia and Norway and expects a recovery in UK sales in June. However, only time will determine whether Musk’s expectations will become a reality.

The fact is that Tesla shares decreased by 17.21 % on an annual basis (YTD), so it is not possible to blame anyone for their pessimism. This is especially true in light of the recent contraction in the global demand EV in general.
