This news was announced by the Chief Executive Director of Ripple, Managing Director of the Middle East and Africa, Reece Merrrick, on his account on social media.
Ripple USD (RLUSD) was launched on Mainnet in early December 2024. The new Stablecoin is deduced on two Blockchains – XRP LEDGER and Ethereum. The latter has been used so far frequently to launch RLUSD.
Soon after launch, many major exchanges were included, including Bullish and Bitstamp, RLUSD. In the middle of March, LMAX Digital added its support. Now, the turn to Gemini is to add support to RLUSD.
Ripple donates $ 25 million in RLUSD to support American education
As covered by U.Today earlier, on Monday, Ripple Beheemoth announced that it had chosen the support of two large educational organizations in the United States-Donorschoose and Teach for America-by donating RLUSD worth $ 25 million.
The CEO of Ripple Brad Garlinghouse commented on this step, saying that Ripple had a partnership with the above -mentioned organizations “in favor of thousands of classrooms across the United States.” This happened during the week’s appreciation week, and Garinghouse hopes to inspire this step from Ripple other large companies to authorize them. This donation will also help funding “thousands of semester projects and teachers’ requests,” says the Ripple blog post.
The CEO of Teach for America, Anesh Sohoni, was saying that this funding “will expand our Fellows program, move innovation in the RenVenty laboratory, and provides decisive financial assistance to thousands of members of the new Corps while preparing teachers.”
