Reddit is the second most martyred source in Google Ai Overview
Reddit relationship with complex Google.
The Social Media Forum, which was announced last year, has been subjected to unprecedented pressure to attract advertisers and a profit, recently, a priority in Google’s research.
Now that Google has launched an artificial intelligence overview, the natural language summary of the results of the top of the page, it seems that his preference for martyrdom residues Reddit.
SEMRUSH Analysis Company shares the data this month on how to influence the research that works with artificial intelligence materials on traffic. It was found that Reddit is the second most martyred website in Google AI, after Quora.
The study authors wrote: “Quora and Reddit users often ask and answer specialized questions that have not been dealt with elsewhere, which makes them rich information sources for very specific artificial intelligence demands,” the study authors wrote. “Reddit may also do well because Google has a partnership with Reddit and uses Reddit data to train its systems.”
Reddit and Google entered a 60 million dollar partnership, in 2024, which allowed Google to train artificial intelligence models on Reddit content. Google said the deal “will facilitate more advanced offers of Reddit information content.”
All this helped Reddit increased traffic over the past year, which may tempt more advertisers.
However, this traffic largely comes from the so -called users who have been registered, which means that they are not the owners in Reddit and they are unlikely to be ordinary visitors. Redburn analysts called for a lot of Reddit “understanding” growth.
“The growth of the accelerated user has been moved mostly by users who have been recorded largely to the basic system through Google Search,” Redburn analysts wrote in March. “These users are much less valuable for Reddit because they usually look only for an answer to inquire, and thus spend a little time on the platform.”
Although Google AI’s overview may often refer to Reddit as a source, the way the search results in a natural language summary means that many researchers will be less likely to click on Reddit itself.
Reddit shares decreased in May after Google launched the new artificial intelligence, and analysts said that the new feature is likely to reduce traffic to Reddit.
