Morgan Stanley says the stock market has been priced in the best tariff scenario, and warns the recession issue that is looming on the horizon for 7 wonderful companies
Chris Tommy, Managing Director of Morgan Stanley, believes that the market has not been in the risks of the Trump administration tariff.
Tommy He says In a new interview with CNBC that the stocks are still “specific”, which indicates that the S&P 500 may be corrected after mobilizing nearly 6000 points.
“I think the anxiety we feel is that although we have taken the worst scenario regarding liberation day, we are in a position where I think the market is currently perhaps in the best scenario. I think everyone talks about the fact that there will be 10 % of the tariffs in all fields, and 30 % of China. I think this is a kind of bread.”
Toomy also warns of recession capabilities, which is an unfavorable economic environment dominated by stagnant economic growth and enlarged high unemployment.
Morgan Stanley Executive notes that companies that have a connection with China are also not doing it because of the definitions.
“You can see that in The Magnificent 7, and you can see that in the rest of the S&P 500, so in our minds, this will be a problem in stagnation. If we see GDP growth decreases, this may give us the opportunity to advance next year and start lowering prices.”
As of Tuesday, the S&P 500 is trading at 5,935 points.
