Meta to provide Amnesty International Assistant to the European Union
Meta, previously known as Facebook, announced on Thursday that it will launch its artificial intelligence assistant, Meta Ai, in the European Union starting from “this week”. This comes more than a year after the first service appearance in the United States.
Meta to launch the AI Tawylidi assistant in the European Union
“We hope it has taken less time to bring artificial intelligence technology to Europe, but the mobility in the complex organizational scene in the region may be late. However, we are happy to be here last.”
According to ReportsMeta AI will start offering it across 41 European countries this week. It was initially unveiled in the United States in September 2023, Meta AI expanded to the company’s request set in April 2024.
Unlike the American version, which includes generating images, the European Union version will focus on text responses only for user information. The web search will also be used to provide more detailed answers.
The artificial intelligence assistant is designed to improve conversations, enabling users to dive into topics, request “how”, or solving problems such as flight planning.
The development of large language models (LLMS) such as Meta AI is required to access huge amounts of data, which are highly organized in the European Union, especially with regard to individual user information. The European Union version of the robot has not been trained using data from European Union users.
Meta has already delayed the launch of artificial intelligence in Europe, noting the uncertainty about how the authorities explain the complex regulations of the region on data protection, AI and digital markets. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, was highlighted in August August with Daniel Ek from Spotify that the organizational framework of Europe is “fragmented and indispensable.”
Now, Meta seems to have resolved these organizational challenges and advanced with its proposal in 41 European countries across six languages.
Since artificial intelligence is still a maximum priority for Meta, the company plans to invest between 60 and 65 billion dollars this year, with an important part for building data centers, servers and infrastructure needed to develop advanced AI models.
