Memorandum: Blue origin dripping medium managers in the demobilization of workers
- David Limp, CEO of Blue Origen, explained why the missile company has registered about 10 % of the workers.
- He said that rapid growth led to more bureaucracy. They are now the layers of management, between engineering cuts.
- This step shows that Jeff Bezos is owned to join the tech flat.
Another company from the founding of Jeff Bezos wants a lower number of medium managers.
Bezos Rocket Company, blue origin, says it starts from about 10 % of its workers and reduces management layers in this process.
“We have grown and rented an incredible speed in the past few years, and with this growth, more bureaucracy and less concentration than we need,” Blue Origin, CEO of Blue Origen, told employees in an email on Thursday that Business Insider obtained.
“Unfortunately, this led to the elimination of some situations in engineering, research and development, program management/project and mitigating our management layers,” Limpe added.
The employees’ discounts just weeks after the Blue Asset launched the first tropical missile, New Glen, on January 16. Blue origin was established by Bezos in 2000 and was playing with his rival, Elon Musk’s Spacex.
Spacex developed the first tropical missile, The Falcon 9 V1.0, in 2005. The missile was launched for the first time in 2010.
In December, Bezos told journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin at the top of the New York Times deal for 2024 that he believed the blue origin “is not a very good work, yet.”
“I think it will be the best work I have ever participated in, but it will take some time,” Bizos added.
This step by CEO Limpe, who was previously working for more than a decade in Amazon, tells a similar desire by Amazon and Jassy CEO to obtain fewer medium managers – part of the wider technology flattening direction.
Jaci told the Amazon employees in September that he wanted to increase the percentage of individual shareholders to managers by 15 % by the end of March, which he said was “reduced the bureaucracy” and improving the company’s speed.
Matta has taken similar moves. In 2023, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that the company does not want a structure, “This is just managers running managers, managers, managers, and managing the people who work.”

Subject: difficult news – changes to our team
O people,
We just finished this morning meeting, during which I was given an update to our institution. As I mentioned, we made a difficult decision to reduce our workforce by about 10 %. The influence that this did not understand on any of us – we say goodbye to our friends and colleagues who helped us build the blue color in what it is today.
I know this is a lot to absorb, and I would like to explain how we got here. During the past few months, as a leadership team, we have worked together to determine the annual operating plan for 2025 and growth strategy. Our primary focus in 2025 and beyond is to expand the scope of manufacturing and launch speed, meat and efficiency for our customers. We have grown and rented an incredible speed in the past few years, and with this growth, more bureaucracy and less focus than we need. It has also become clear that the composition of our organization must change to ensure our roles are compatible with the best priorities. Unfortunately, this led to the elimination of some situations in engineering, research and development, program management/project and mitigating our management layers.
Although I acknowledged that these messages are delivered better and individually, accessing these changes through multiple sites and teams makes it difficult. We will notify employees who are immediately affected by their work and personal email addresses of their condition in blue. We will also e -mail for employees who are not affected by confirming their work in blue. Both my message will arrive at 7:30 am PT/10:30 am today. Although our sites are open, I encourage you to work from home for the rest of the day if your role allows you to do so.
We do what we can support everyone affected. Email notifications will provide support details, which include Severance packages, Cobra coverage, job support services, access to advice through our employee assistance program.
Let me add that I am very confident in the tremendous opportunities in front of us and I am not more optimistic about our mission. We will continue to invest, invent and employ hundreds of positions in the areas that will help us achieve our goals and the best service for our customers. We will be a stronger, faster and more focused company on customers that meet our obligations and exceed constantly. This year alone, we will throw the surface of the moon, offer a record number of amazing engines, fly New Glen and New Shepard on a normal rhythm.
For our colleagues who were affected today, thank you very much for your hard work and your passion for our mission. I hope we all support each other with grace and sympathy with supporting the principles of our leadership during this time.
