Market expectations this week – benzinga

Last week, our focus was on NVIDIA, as the company concluded the technology profit season. The report was solid but not amazing, which raised fears that the demand for its chips could slow down after the release of Deepseek in January. The reaction? The sale of a sharp technology on Thursday, followed by a recovery late in the week.

The markets have been affixed to Washington since Trump took office, and this week is formed to be another pivotal. The President initially announced 25 % of the tariff on Mexican and Canadian goods in his first week, which led to a final date on the first of February. However, after negotiations with both countries on border security, the deadline extended until March 4 – today.

In response to a preliminary reaction to the effective new Trump tariff today, global markets revolve around fears of a full trade war. China and Canada entered a position of revenge and Mexico pledged to respond.

Modern economic data was weak. Consumer confidence reports were negative, in addition to fears. However, the PCE report last week – the preferred inflation scale of the Federal Reserve – expects some stability. This week, the All Eyes will be in the Jobs February report on Friday, which was released at 8:30 am.

With uncertainty about definitions and economic data, expected market fluctuations. Withdrawal is possible, but staying at the head level is the key.

My advice? Focus on positivity and keep an optimistic look.
