Lufthansa, Swiss, and Drive Web3 Innovation in the travel industry in Frankfurt Hackathon

- It has been proven through Hackathon that web3 technologies have the ability to revolutionize the travel sector completely.
- Using cases presented during Hackathon revealed that these innovative methods are much more effective than traditional distribution channels.
Travel experts have developed innovative solutions that benefit from Blockchain and artificial intelligence in Web3 Hackathon in Frankfurt, organized by Luffhansa Systems and Swiss International Air Lines (Swiss) in partnership with Network Network. The aim of these solutions was to make the travel industry more efficient, costly and sustainable.
Within only forty -eight hours, teams of thirteen travel organizations and technology developed effective and ready -made solutions. Using cases presented during Hackathon revealed that these innovative methods are much more effective than traditional distribution channels.
Real challenges, real innovation
Instead of focusing on theoretical models, the event was mainly interested in practical application. The goal is to investigate new ways to distribute travel and travel products via the Camino network, which depends on Blockchain technology. New payment methods, carbon compensation, access to sales markets, and collective individual travel were among many important topics discussed.
Experts from the Lufthansa group (LHG) met to choose the three initiatives that showed the largest capabilities:
- UNIMONI team suggested a solution with the goal of connecting 300,000 non -AITA travel agents in India to the Camino network. This solution guarantees local payment options and direct access to the content of Lufthansa’s flight. Using this method, the distribution costs are greatly reduced, and new foreign markets are opened. In addition, there is a high possibility of development in other areas.
- The suggestion of the Swiss and digital barn team to improve the travel identifier by integrating the web3 governor was impressive to the jury. This concept will enable the problem, exchange and management of digital identities, as well as assets in the real world, such as vouchers and digital services.
- A group reservation solution was created by the Hotelplan team. This solution allows passengers who leave from different regions but go to the same destination for reservation together while pushing individually. This makes the reservation process simpler, more convenient and more effective than in the past.
In addition, Carbify was chosen as the “heart winner” by judges. Their answer showed how the Camino network could contribute to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by providing a complete tracement of compensatory efforts, up to the exact geographical status of each tree planted.
Michel Welck, the project manager in Swiss and one of the Hakaton beginners ::
“Besides many innovative cases of use developed during Hackathon, it was especially impressive to see how the teams succeeded in integrating the content of the LHG trip on its platforms in just two days. The commercial capabilities of this technology are promising-especially with the integration of the fastest and most efficient partner and the distribution costs in a large way. It is now even the industry to bear this progress and turn it into ready solutions For the market. “
Pablo Castillo, CEO of Chain4travel and the starting company to Camino, added:
“Hackathon has clearly shown how links that are used for months can now be created within days. Compared to traditional distribution channels, new solutions are more efficient – with up to 98 % of costs, as shown from the hotel scheme, to 50 % of improved sustainability, as measured in Carbify Co₂ analysis.”
What next?
It has been proven through Hackathon that web3 technologies have the ability to revolutionize the travel sector completely. The results shed light on the fact that B2B partners may be integrated much more quickly, which can eventually improve time to the market and reduce distribution costs as well as carbon emissions associated with information technology.
There is now an evaluation conducted by the Lufthansza collection to find out any Hackathon innovations that have the ability to convert it into tangible experimental applications. The company that started Camino, Chain4travel, will continue to help the travel industry so that they can use Web3 technology in relevant and practical ways.

Camino is a group of Layer-1 that has been developed with the tourism industry in particular. Within the travel industry, which is valued at several billion dollars, Kamino is an organization that invented the distribution scene and finds solutions to great difficulties in communication, payments and settlement. It is run by an alliance of major industry participants. The future of the Web3 Travel is led by Camino, which has received more than ten million dollars and is supported by more than two hundred brands and more than 100 health.
