Less than 144.00 is located with safe haven flows for yen

  • Yen is attributed to the investment of investors in safety, amid rumors of an unconfirmed commercial deal between us and China.
  • USD/JPY finds support in SMA for 20 days; Daily closure above 144.00 needed to restore traction.
  • It can reveal a break less than 143.00 141.97 and YTD low at 139.88.

The US dollar/JPY decreased late during the North American session, where investors looking for safety Japanese yen (JPY) bought and got rid of the US dollar (USD) amid non -advertisements of commercial deals, despite rumors that the United States and China are close to the talks. At the time of this report, the dollar is trading at 143.80, a decrease of 0.80 %.

Dollar price expectations/JPY: Technical expectations

From a technical point of view, USD/JPY remains biased down, up to the lowest level in the second consecutive trading day. However, I found support on a 20-day simple moving average (SMA) of 143.43 before buyers lifted the pair over Kijun-Cen at 143.70.

Although this can pave the way for recovery, the bulls need a daily closure above 144.00 if they want to test higher prices. Otherwise, if the USD/JPY sellers pay less than 143.00, this wipes the path to test the decrease in the oscillation on April 29, 141.97. If it is exceeded, the next station will be low in the year (YTD) at 139.88.
