I loved New York City, but I had to leave. Now he lives happily in the small town of Tensse
I am proud of a third generation in New Yorker, and I never imagined the city’s departure as it seems that everything is happening.
After all, anywhere else can I survive as a multi -heevin, performer, chess teacher?
Whenever my friends moved out of the city, I made a secret and issued their choice of failure while I was surprised by myself to be made of tougher things.
However, when I closed Covid-19, schools and theaters, I couldn’t pay my bills. In 38, I found myself unemployed and without a house.
Desperate, I applied to the establishment of an artist on the donkey farm in a small town in the Tennessee countryside. I got it, and my plan was to save money, write my play, then return home to New York City within a few months.
However, I fell in love with my little city and completely raised my life to stay here with my husband and daughter. We are still happy here after three years.
I enjoy reaching the open air, but I can close my closeness to the prosperous cultural scene in Nashville

Our cost of living is much lower than ever in New York City, which was a huge feature.
My family lives in a cabin outside the network, where my husband and I tear the lands for our lands in exchange for low rent. This helps us spend more time outside, in addition to that we tend to our garden is an interesting activity to save money for all family members.
I appreciate the independence and freedom that we give us near the open air our daughter, but as she gets older, I want to share parts of my culture that my mother did with my sister while I was in New York City: museums, engraved libraries, concerts and theaters.
Fortunately, we live less than two hours from Nashville, its main artistic scene and the big city shows give me peace of mind and the pleasure of diving when I miss the house.
I realized that I prefer to live in a smaller place with less options instead of the big choice with a lot. Do not miss the hunger and continuous bombing of digital ads on everything from moving vehicles to bus stations, too.
Here, I suffer from fatigue less than the decision and motivation, giving me more cognitive power to be present with my family and build my artistic career.
We have achieved the best aspects of living here as well
Some parts of living in a more distant town were difficult to adapt to.
We cannot get a delivery pizza to our cabin in the woods. However, on the positive side, I discovered that I love cooking, as well as my daughter.
I miss to live in a city that can walk, but I learned how to drive. We do not have many close-up-friendly activities-most of the classrooms, music and art 40 minutes by car from us-but we have a large space to create fun. My husband built a giant wooden obstacle course for our daughter in the spacious front yard.
Finding good job opportunities was especially difficult, but this only inspired me to create my country. A little more than a year ago, she opened famous works and started writing independent stories.
Every day, I am now “transported” to my husband, whom my husband designed, steps away from the cabin. No trains or buses on the horizon.
I am grateful because we jumped outside our comfort area to achieve this big step

I often lack an unrestricted easy access to live music, comic shows, museums, theater, restaurants and dance lessons in New York City.
However, every day here is full of their own adventures – dealing with the bell snake, cutting the falling trees, saving dogs, and creating irrigation projects for excess rain.
Although I doubt that I was going to make this change if the epidemic did not force me to get a difficult situation, I am happy that I embraced this new chapter.
I allowed me to continue to grow and teach me about what really matters: spending time surrounded by people I love and create art in a natural place.
I am sure that some New York residents read this will think I Only “cannot be penetrated” in the city – they are right! However, I now see that the secret of living in a complete life was outside my comfort zone.
I am grateful for my time in the city, but I will take care of the morning sitting on the top of the hill that watches the sunrise on the people who are fighting for a seat on the “R” train.
