I moved my office in the office for a promotional offer, and I worked

I grew up, I have always learned that hard work pays its fruits, so I assumed that this is the way the real world worked.

I worked hard in high school, and I only got all A and 1 in the last semester. I entered the first selection school for the college and fell every job interview to this point. My hard work pays its fruits.

Then one of the college professors recommended me to the employment director to obtain a paid training in a design company in Chicago while I was still at school. I noticed my excellent work and active participation in its chapter.

After graduation, I was completely employed in this architecture and design to work in the Resources Library. I have planned to climb peace and landing a role in the design team with the hard work mindset that has served me well so far.

I was counting if I continued to overcome expectations, I will notice and upgrade. But it was not so easy, and job advice changed everything for me.

I went through the upgrade

I gave everything I have for this role and the company. However, it was constantly passed for larger projects and for promotional illnesses.

I kept exceeding, and I work from 12 to 14 hours to complete my duties and help design teams in their projects. However, I am still not chosen for upgrade outside the library.

When I asked why I was not chosen for a participant position, many people thought I was really one because of all my work and my achievements, so no one thought of my nomination. The designers I spoke to said that I did not do anything wrong,; I simply was not there in the team area when the tasks were performed.

Finally, an architect I worked late in one of the evenings and asked what is my goal with the company. I told him that I wanted to get out of the Resources Library and on full -time design projects.

He ignored three words that changed the course of my career: “Move your office.”

He finally explained that people are appointed projects for people who are in mind. Since I was tucked in a remote corner of the office, he rarely considered me. I needed to transfer my office to the specified area that I want to work so that they could see my face literally.

At that time, I was a follower of the thirsty base, so I was afraid to transfer my work office without inviting, but I did it anyway.

I took the advice of my colleague, and changed everything

I moved my office to the main area of ​​the office – where I wanted to work – and did my library from there. I was physically present in the new work area, I was appointed in the projects that I wanted to be almost overnight.

She worked in local hotels to Michigan Avi and abroad. I also handed over a millions of dollars in a military project, and I even traveled.

I was getting tasks over and over again – whether in the hospitality or military sectors.

Finally, I was promoted to beginners – a few weeks after my office moved.

Serious work is not always the answer

After my experience in the design company, I learned an important lesson: hard work alone is not what makes you places. It is the way the game plays; It puts yourself proactively in the places and situations you want to be – before you are “there”.

Unfortunately, I spent many late nights in the wrong place in the office, where no one can see my accomplishments.

My performance and my tendencies are always great, but I learned that I could be great without running myself on the ground.

As long as I put myself in front of people who have power, I can move my career to the next level.
