How to avoid crowds while visiting the gun despite turmoil

Venice is famous for its palace channels, the ride of ancient school gendol, and the prominent monuments dating back to the millennium, but it is also associated with something less desirable in it: OutGorism.

As a correspondent covering the turmoil – and a person preferred to travel from the defeated path – I was well aware of the problems facing the gun when I decided to visit.

The Italian city withdraws an estimated 20 million visitors every year, as it sweeps the vast majority of the day to take a personal photo with the sighing bridge and then bounce. Venice has taken steps to counter the effects of the turmoil, including a year of about $ 5 for day sport during the crowded season and limit the arrival of cruise ships. But it is a constant problem for the historical city.

Although I heard horror stories about the huge crowds, making it difficult to walk over their iconic bridges, I was determined to avoid the same fate. Although there are still a lot of tourists when I visited in late March, I was surprised by pleasure when I found that it was not like what I was afraid, and I often managed to avoid the hordes of tourists.

Here are three things that I made and made a big difference.

Go in external seasons

You know all those shots that you saw from huge crowds near the Real River Bridge in Venice or Basilica St. Mark? They all have a common thing: they were taken during the crowded season.

For Venice, this is generally April to October, where every month more than half a million visitors draw in 2023, according to the city’s data. July, the most crowded month, and August attracted more than 600,000 visitors. On the contrary, November to March is a “slow” season, withdrawing less than 400,000 visitors per month in 2023.

The formerly sustainable tourism experts told me that the main engine of pleading is not the total number of visitors, but people often want to visit the exact same places at the same time.

It was clear as I traveled across the gun, and I suffered from a small part of the crowd sizes that I prepared for it.

I have visited a famous library store in Tiktok. Online auditors said they had waited an hour to enter and that there was not enough control of the crowds. But when I got there, I simply wandered, looked at the books, noticed some tourists who took selfies, then moved.

I got lunch reservation at the last minute at a loved local restaurant, some of the Internet travelers said that I must book well. Instead, I booked the previous day and there were several available time openings. There were also time entry holes at the last minute available for major attractions such as Palace’s Palace and Gallerie Dell’accademia.

We walked directly to the Caffe Florian, who claims to be the oldest café in Italy dating back to the eighteenth century of the eighteenth century and sits in Saint Mark Square. People online said that there is a long wait for sitting and coffee is exaggerated – it’s a kind of tourism that I usually avoid. But when we walked and saw, there were a lot of open seats, inside and outside, we walked directly, we sat, and we enjoyed a wonderful coffee in a wonderful cafe in the old school without any chaos caused by the crowds that warned it.

This happened again and again in the gun.

Restaurants along the major canal in most tourist areas seem to have always available seats. The longest line I saw was probably for the beloved generation store on Tiktok, SUSO, and even this seems to be about 10 minutes to wait.

Months outside the season may not have the best weather, but the visit during the month of the shoulder season like March felt the best in the worlds. The atmosphere was warm enough but not hot, as it only required a jacket and sometimes we do not need it, and we experience only a little heavy rains. Personally, I will take this weather on any day at the heat of July.

Stay in a residential neighborhood and let yourself wander

Although the rifle consists of more than a hundred islands, the main island, or the historical center, is about 2 square miles, so it is not large enough to escape completely than tourists, which personally found that it is much easier in large, sprawling, such as Rome or Paris.

But choosing to stay outside the tourist neighborhoods has a long way to remove the crowds. San Marco is the most popular neighborhood for tourists to stay in Venice, and has souvenirs to prove this.

Instead of choosing a place closer to the main sites, I decided to stay in Cannaregio, one of the most residential areas in the historic gun center, with only about 50,000 permanent population.

Cannaregio was quieter and had a more authentic feeling than the most popular areas of Venice, but it was not useful to walk to the main sites. The boycott had an endless number of calm paths and channels that should be explored, allowing us to enjoy the beauty of the gun without being another spirit on the horizon. We visited the restaurants and bars that were full of locals, as well as tourists. We have seen groups of local wealthy sitting on channels and young children in football uniform walking with their parents.

I was honest and enjoyable with a vision of real glimpses of local life near excessive tourist areas.

Visit another island

We had about four days to explore the gun, a city where most people did not spend the night, and those who spend a little more than two, according to the city’s data. But staying for a longer period encouraged us to adventure more than the historical center.

We took the phrase – mainly, equivalent to Venice for the public bus – to Morano, a small island famous for the glass industry that mainly feels a quieter and smaller version of the main island.

Although it was only about 10 minutes by the boat of the historical center, Morano was quieter than the gun, making the roaming easier without the need to worry about overcrowding. It seemed to be a small haven for the hustle and bustle of the island, and the tensions of Apirol on the channel were just cooled a lot of a similar experience in the historical center.

There are other other islands that you can visit via public water buses, such as Burano, a small hunting village with rows of colored houses, and Torsilo, the historical island where the gun started with a handful of the population only.

Manage your expectations

Venice exceeded my expectations and ended up enjoying it more than I expected. If you travel to Venice, you expect to find strange pictures of the authentic Venice and Italian life, which you did not touch, historically, you may be disappointed.

But you will likely see the reason for attracting many people from all over the world in the first place if you can manage your expectations, take some of these tips, and keep in mind that you are visiting a place that tourism has been an important part of its economy since the end of the eighteenth century.
