Meanwhile, Google converts how to find answers to questions. This feature, which is led by Gemini (Google’s AI model), is now at the top of many search results. It provides readers with a brief summary of the answer, and is often pulled from various websites, without having to click on a link.
Although this saves users, it destroys web owners. Reports indicate that famous publishers such as Business Insider, HuffPost and The Atlantic have seen declines of up to 50 to 55 % of traffic. Its content is used by Google to create these AI responses, however users do not read full articles.
This has produced a new type of problems: web sites are read but not visited.
