Google agreed to settle the case because it deals with a government effort to dismantle its actions.
The Texas Public Prosecutor said in a statement on Friday that the search engine giant agreed to pay the state of Texas 1.375 billion dollars to settle two invitations accusing Google of violating the laws of data and security privacy.
“In 2022, Pactson Prosecutor Backston filed a law against Google to track and collect private data for users illegally with regard to geographical monotheism, hidden research operations, and vital data,” the statement said. “After years of aggressive litigation, Pakiston Prosecutor approved the settlement of Texas data data claims against Google for a sum of more than any other claims of similar violations.”
The settlement does not mean that Google has recognized any mistake. A Google spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
In 2024, Meta settled a similar lawsuit filed by Paxton, which accused the company of collecting the personal biometric data of people illegally. Meta agreed to pay the country $ 1.4 billion.
For the mother company from Google, Alphabet, the settlement is just one of the many legal headaches that the technology giant had to deal with over the past few years.
Last August, Google lost an equivalent case to combat monopoly that she decided to laugh in the search engine. The company is now in the middle of the court’s battle with the Ministry of Justice to find out what to do in light of the ruling. The Ministry of Justice wants to strip the Chrome web browser.

In a separate anti -monopoly case, a federal judge in the eastern province of Virginia spent that Google had an illegal monopoly on advertising technology.
The company said it is planning to appeal the ruling.
