Ripple expands US footprint with new licenses in New York and Texas

Ripple has obtained money transmitter (MTLS) licenses in New York and Texas, marking another step in its expansion into the US.

These licenses, which are critical to providing compatible cross-border payment services, enhance Ripple’s ability to provide financial institutions and crypto companies with faster and more efficient payment solutions.

Ripple secures money sender licenses in two major countries

According to a company statement, Ripple has received approval for money transmitter licenses (MTLS) in New York and Texas. These licenses from Ripple Payments enable payments to access licensed versions of the cross-border payments platform, ensuring that transactions are entirely managed by Ripple on their behalf.

Ripple stated that New York and Texas have seen growing demand for global real-time payment solutions, especially from banks and crypto companies. The licenses add to Ripple’s extensive regulatory compliance portfolio, including more than 55 MTLs globally, including 33 in the U.S. Additionally, Ripple holds a New York Bitlicense and a limited company charter for purposes.
