The data published by the Federal Reserve on Tuesday showed that industrial production in the United States (the United States) contracted 0.2 % on a monthly basis in May. This reading followed the growth of 0.1 % registered in April and is worse than the market expectation to expand 0.1 %.
Other details of the report showed that the manufacturing output increased by 0.1 % in this period. Meanwhile, the capacity use of 77.4 % of 77.7 % decreased in April.
