Deloitte arms in the United States and the United Kingdom were divided into Dei Rollback under Trump
- Deloitte Us made a series of changes to Dei’s practices, according to the internal notes she saw BI.
- Deloitte said the changes follow a review of the “relevant government directions.”
- But a president told UK employees in a memo on Tuesday that the company’s division in the United Kingdom would not follow his example.
Deloitte, the world’s largest professional services company, declines diversity programs in the United States, joining the increasing number of companies that change their policies in the first weeks of the Trump administration.
“We will put our working power and the goals of our ambitious diversity, our diversity, diversity, shares, comprehensiveness, and our DEI programming,” Doug Bodwin, chief official in Deloitte, told employees in an email sent on Monday. He saw from the inside.
Bodwin wrote that the changes were taking place after the company made “a detailed review of all relevant government directives to ensure our compliance with its requirements, as a private institution and as a government contract.” He said that this review was in line with “others in the market.”
“Everyone is welcome at Deloitte”, Bodwin confirmed in a bold text in the email.
The memorandum comes a week after Deloitte request from workers in the Department of Governmental Services and Public Services (GPS), which serves the public sector, to remove pronouns from their email signatures.
In a note sent on February 5, which BI also saw, GPS workers were asked to update their email signature for “compatibility with emerging government customer practices and requirements.”
“Please note that the template is limited to the name, role information and commercial contact information. No other personal information should be included, including quote, lines or pronouns,” the guidance said.
The memo indicated that the workers of the doctors have “a long commitment to compliance with the requirements of the US government.”
While the changes to Dei’s programs apply to the 173,000 DELOTTE employees, the company’s branch in the United Kingdom has indicated a division with its American counterpart.
In a note sent on Tuesday to UK workers and saw BI, Deloitte UK said it remains “committed” with the goals of diversity and will continue to report annually its progress in its inclusion.
“Events in the external scene do not change our commitment to building a comprehensive culture and helping all our employees to reach their full potential,” wrote Richard Houston, a great partner and executive at Deloitte UK, in the internal note.
In dealing with Deloitte US changes on Dei, Houston told the UK’s workforce that “leaders were clearly reflecting the need to stay completely compatible with federal laws.”
On his first day in office, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to end diversity programs throughout the federal government and ordered that all federal Dei employees be placed on vacation while resolving their departments.
Last week, Trump’s recent constitutional prosecutor Bam Bondi The Ministry of Justice ordered “To achieve, cancel and punish” any “illegal” programs in private sector companies and universities that receive federal funds.
Deloitte receives $ 3.2 billion annually through its contracts with federal agencies, including defense, health and humanitarian services.
Two Deloitte GPS employees who spoke to BI said they were not surprised by the company’s decision to change Dei practices in line with management policies.
They both ask them not to disclose his identity because they are not allowed to speak to the media.
One of the employees told BI that they believed that the move was taken “to the minimum possible exposure to risks” and “maintaining good intentions” with the administration.
“Deloitte takes an approach” it is better to be safe, from sorry “here.”
Deloitte was based on criticism from Trump’s supporters after accusing an employee of leaking the old JD Vance messages in which he was criticizing the president.

Deloitte has already clashed with the Maga movement after one of its employees was revealed about the leakage of messages sent by the president of Naw-Vice JD Vance in 2020, which was strongly criticizing Trump to the Washington Post.
In September 2024, Donald Trump Junior posted the name of the executive accused Deloitte by leaking messages on X.
“Deloitte also gets $ 2 billion in government contracts. Maybe it’s time for the Republican Party to finish the broth that it is driving the taxpayer in Deloitte?” The son of the president said.
Big Four joins an increased list of companies, including Meta, Walmart and Target, which has retracted Dei’s policies in recent months.
Last week, his giant consultant colleague told employees that she was declining Dei’s policies. Consulting chose a similar formulation to Deloitte, and he told employees in an internal note that it is “sunset” current goals and programs.
Deloitte did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.
