CLOSET mistakes made by people from an internal designer
Do you have an account? .
- I am an internal designer in New York City, and I see that people make costly errors when preparing the cabinets.
- This includes the lack of appropriate lighting and a failure to increase storage to the maximum with adjustable systems.
- I also hate seeing people wasting vertical space and using cheap shelf materials and penis.
The cabinet design may seem clear, but there are common defects that can turn functional space into an expensive regret.
As an internal designer in New York City, I saw how thoughtful planning could make a wardrobe more efficient, beautiful and enjoyable for use.
Below are the five biggest mistakes that they make when organizing and designing a wardrobe – and how to avoid it.
Failure to install the right lighting

Good lighting is crucial in a cabinet, however it is often ignored.
The dark cabinet makes it difficult to see your clothes, which leads to frustration and not using space. Suitable lighting, such as LED strips or comfortable bulbs, can highlight your wardrobe and give the cabinet a luxurious feeling.
When identifying lighting sources of a cabinet, it is best to avoid harsh fluorescent lights, which are famous for the unavailable shades.

Shelves and bars made of cheaper materials can fade or broken over time and you accumulate on clothes and heavy shoes on them. After that, you will have to spend more money to repair or replace it.
Instead, invest in durable materials, such as wood and minerals, from the beginning. Not only last longer, but they can also give your closet a dedicated polished look.
Not increasing the vertical space

One of the most common mistakes that people make in their treasures is only focusing on eye storage solutions and not using the vertical space.
Long tanks, dual bars, and roof lift shelves can help you achieve maximum benefit from every inch of your wardrobe.
Use the higher sections to store seasonal elements or accessories that are not required daily, and keep a foldable step ladder nearby so that you can reach higher shelves.

Fixed systems may not serve you well as your clothes collection and wardrobe changes develop. Instead, investment in adjustable solutions ensures that your tank remains practical for years to come.
I suggest choosing shelves, bars and organizers who can be easily removed or converted to different heights, allowing you to customize your wardrobe layout over time.
Not planning to store the stairs

Tanks are not related to the suspended space only – drawers, divisions and trays necessary to store smaller elements such as jewelry, belts and shoes.
Otherwise, it may be easy for accessories to get lost or add a chaos to your area.
Think about combining specialized storage solutions in your wardrobe, such as pulling trays for watches or divisions for socks and scarves, to maintain the basics of your cabinet arranged and accessible.
