What a doctor who reflected biological age avoids 15 years and avoids
- Dr. Eric Verdeen, 63, is studying aging biology and how to get in good health.
- He believes that lifestyle such as diet plays the biggest role in the period we live.
- It follows a Mediterranean -style diet and rarely drinks alcohol.
A valid doctor and researcher said to the aging, who claims to be the opposite of his biological age for up to 15 years, that he is following a Mediterranean diet-but he avoids things like alcohol.
Dr. Eric Ferdeen, CEO and head of the Pak Research Institute on Aging, is studying how we can extend “Healthspan”, or the quality of life, by preserving colleges that tend to decrease with age, such as perception, and prevent chronic diseases such as cancer and type 2 diabetes.
Over the past decade, VERDIN have used worms that can be worn, such as smart watches, as well as quarterly blood tests, to track its health and make adjustments according to the results. Currently, it works to have a former dinner to extend the intermittent window.
According to tests that measure vital indicators such as inflammation, blood pressure and cholesterol, while its time age is 68 years, the biological Verdin era ranges between 48 and 53 years. There is no consensus on the definition of biological age or how to measure it, so it varies according to the tests it refers to.
In general, Verdin believes that lifestyle, including diet, exercises, stress management, and social ties, plays a greater role in determining the time in which we will live in good genes.
Verdin shared the diet it divides for longevity, and the three foods that limit it as possible.
Divide: Eating a Mediterranean diet
Verdin said there is strong evidence that eating a good balance of complex carbohydrates – such as sweet potatoes – fats and proteins necessary for health.
It follows the principles of the average diet, which depends on traditional eating habits for people in countries such as Greece, Italy and Turkey, and has been classified as healthy dining through the US news report and the United States for eight years in a row.
“When you look at the inhabitants in this type of diet, they are really the result of health,” said Verdin.
The eating plan emphasizes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds and lean protein sources such as fish.
Avoid: Ultra -treated foods
Verdin follows the advice of food writer Michael Bolan, which is not to eat anything you cannot request from a window or your grandmother will not recognize as food-or what can be considered foods on profit.
There is no agreed definition of super treatment foods, but they are usually manufactured using ingredients and processes that you do not have in a home kitchen. It tends to be very marketing, low in fiber, and contains large amounts of fat, sugar and salt: a mixture that makes it “excessive light”, which indicates studies that indicate excessive eating.
Scientists are still trying to understand how they affect our health, but eating a high diet in UPFS was associated with 32 health problems, including obesity, cancer and depression in a recent study.
Burger made of meat to be considered re -considered as super treatment can be classified.

Avoid: fruit juice
While Verdin defends eating a lot of fruits, he does not recommend drinking it, as the juice tends to high sugar.
The juice removes fiber from the fruit. So you can drink several pieces of fruit in seconds, which you will not be able to do if you eat it.
When we consume sugary foods or drinks, blood sugar mutations and pancreas need to release more insulin to balance it. With frequent nails, after a period of time the pancreas may not be able to keep pace with the necessary production, which may lead to insulin resistance, diabetes, and type 2 diabetes.
He said that the fiber, which is great for bowel health, also delays sugar absorption, and thus prevents blood sugar mutations.
“When you eat orange, the sugar comes at a much slower rate. So your body is actually capable of dealing with it,” said Verdin.
Avoid: alcohol
Verdin used to have a cup of wine with his wife on most of his evenings, but after trying to dry January during the street epidemic, he realized that he had more energy and slept better without him. He said: “So I never no longer.”
He will have a cup of individual wine on a special occasion, but he rarely drinks these days.
In January 2023, the World Health Organization said that “there is no level of safe alcohol consumption when it comes to human health”, and the American surgeon, Dr. Vivek Mortth, published a consultant brings awareness of alcohol ties to cancer. In January.
The consultant said that alcohol consumption was the third reason that can be prevented from cancer in the United States, after tobacco and obesity, and recommended it for warning posters on alcoholic beverages.
