5 things that would make my trip to French Polinisia better
- Last August, Sonia Moore laid a mark on French Polinisia from the travel bucket list.
- Despite a lot of planning before the trip, looking back, there are some things that you were doing differently.
- I had crossed Bora Bora and a higher budget for food and wine.
French Polinisia has been on the list of my bulldozers since I learned of its existence, and last August, I finally reached there.
My and for you for 16 days traveling through this French region abroad. The flight line included six islands in the islands archipelago, a region that forms part of the 118 Pacific Islands in French Paulisia.
We visited during the peak season, but he never felt crowded.
Amazing carrots are like their reputation, with virgin white sand beaches and live turquoise lakes. I loved our trip to French Polinisia, but there are five things that you had done differently to make it better.
The phrases were reliable and cheaper for short ways such as Tahiti to Moria (in the picture).

1. Search for the best way to travel
I spent a lot of time to plan the trips between the islands when I should first study a map of the community islands to find out the ways that were better with the phrase. I should also ignore most options on Air Tahiti on Air Tahiti – book The advantage is all that is required for flight times and prices.
The phrases have proven to be reliable, comfortable and much cheaper for short ways such as Tahiti to Moorea and Huahine-Raiea-Taha’a-Bora Bora. Knowing that earlier would have provided me with a lot of planning time.
Some islands, such as Taha’a, have no even airport. It is often referred to as “Vanilla Island”, because of its fragrant farms, can only be accessed by the boat via RaiaTea-either for 45 minutes APTAHI Express The ferry or a 30 -minute water taxi.
We were happy because we got there because we had one of our most magical experiences – swimming with six manta rays in the open ocean, completely alone.

For some roads, flights are the best option. We took the phrase Maupiti Express 2 from Bora Bora to Mobati because there are no trips to suit our schedule, but I will not do it again. It is less comfortable, rough ride for only two and a half hours for the strongest stomach.
Whether through the plane or the ferry, checking the tables before reserving the accommodation is the key. The phrases do not work daily, and flight prices can be violently fluctuated – one ticket we saw was $ 120 on Monday but $ 327 on Saturday.
Planning about these factors has made a big difference on our journey.
2. Put the time to change in mind
I stumbled at the time when it changes to the east to Tahiti. Since we traveled through Australia and New Zealand, we have mainly returned in time, and they fell a day before we left. I left the last station of our trip, Oakland, on the afternoon of August 17 and arrived in my Babiti on the evening of August 16.
I have made our hotel in Papeete for the wrong date, assuming that we will arrive on the seventeenth. Fortunately, this mixture is so popular that Booking.com has sent a message that defines the date, allowing me to correct the error in advance.
The food was delicious but expensive, including Poisson Cru, which is local coconut milk.

3. Increase the food and wine budget
Food and wine in French Polynesia are not cheap. We spent $ 17 on chickpeas and the same for Poisson Cru, local coconut milk. The main dishes were often more than $ 30.
French wine ranged from the bottle, on average, from $ 30 to $ 65 or more. If we boasted with a bottle of Veuve Clquot in a restaurant, we would have returned $ 146.
On the bright side, everything was delicious.

4. Pura Bora skip and spend more time on two
We fell on his head in love with two hamshs, and four nights were not enough.
We stayed at Airbnb at a value of $ 250 on a private beach facing an amazing lake, and the diving was incredible. I loved more days in that paradise to simply relax in a swing with a good book.
Although Bora Bora was beautiful, she was less unforgettable, and we did not look at her. However, if the Overwateer Banglades are worth $ 2000 in our budget, Bora Bora is my favorite island.

5. Pack some warm clothes
French Polinisia does not suffer from a large temperature contrast throughout the year. Weather forecast for August, which is located in the cold season, expected levels higher than 82 degrees Fahrenheit and the lowest 73 degrees Fahrenheit. However, the average heights for the rest of the year is not very different – about 86 ° F.
We thought we would be comfortable in tropical clothes, but we did not realize the storm of this part of the world. With the Windchill factor, we found ourselves trembling sometimes and we had to shop for some long sleeves shirts.
From June to August is also the most time of the year, although we have sometimes faced light shower and cloudy sky.
French Polinisia is a magical part of the world, and I hope to return, using lessons learned from the first journey of planning for a better visit.
